Sierra Bush was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1994. Her love for adult cartoon comedies developed into drawing and recreating characters of the show and in turn creating her first comic “Ghetto Clown”. These interests in comedy and consumerism cultivated in her earning her Bachelor’s Degree in drawing, painting, and printmaking. While completing her degree, Sierra was introduced to The Situationist International, David Hammons, and Leon Golub which guide her practice currently. Sierra toys with the themes of consumerism and paraphernalia. Although she practices conceptual art, Sierra uses the practice of screen printing and painting to inform the themes of mass production vs the visibility of the hand in American culture.
Sierra lives and works in Powder Springs, Georgia
